Infertility diagnosis

Comprehensive fertility diagnostics for couples

Effective treatment begins with pinpointing the exact cause of difficulties in conceiving. We evaluate both female and male fertility factors simultaneously, ensuring a clear diagnosis without unnecessary delay.

Fertility ultrasound diagnostics at KrakOvi
Female

We focus heavily on assessing the uterine cavity, endometrium, and fallopian tube patency — critical to successful implantation.

Hysteroscopy (Diagnostic & Surgical)

Direct visualization of the uterine cavity to examine size, shape, and endometrium. Allows biopsies for immunohistochemical testing or safe removal of polyps and adhesions. Vital for unexplained infertility, recurrent miscarriages, or repeated implantation failures.

Fallopian Tube Patency Testing

Specialized ultrasound using a contrast agent (including Lipiodol) to check if tubes are open. Detects hidden blockages, hydrosalpinx, or uterine malformations that prevent natural conception.

Andrological diagnostics at KrakOvi
Male

Infertility affects both partners equally. We provide complete urological and andrological consultations alongside in-depth semen analysis.

Semen Evaluation

Detailed checks of sperm count, motility, and morphology, as well as sperm DNA fragmentation tests.

Surgical Sperm Retrieval (TESE, TESA, mTESE)

For patients with azoospermia, our surgical and embryology teams retrieve sperm directly from the testicles or epididymis, used as part of the IVF-ICSI procedure.

IVF procedures & laboratory methods

When natural conception or simpler treatments are not enough, our embryology laboratory provides specialized procedures tailored to your medical history.

In vitro fertilization methods

Conventional IVF

Retrieved eggs and a prepared sperm sample are placed together in a culture dish for natural fertilization under controlled conditions.

ICSI

A single sperm injected directly into the egg. Highly effective for low sperm counts, abnormal motility, morphology, or previously failed IVF.

IMSI

Enhanced ICSI using hyaluronic acid binding to select sperm with specific biological characteristics.

Advanced laboratory support techniques

To optimize development conditions and support successful embryo implantation.

PGT

Analysing the embryo's genetic material before transfer — PGT-A, PGT-SR, or PGT-M following consultation.

Time-Lapse System

Continuous monitoring without removing embryos from the incubator, selecting the highest implantation potential.

FertileChip

Microfluidic sperm selection mimicking the natural journey — for high DNA fragmentation, oxidative stress, or recurrent miscarriages.

EmbryoGlue

Transfer medium enriched with hyaluronan for patients over 35 or after previous failed implantations.

Assisted Hatching

A gentle incision in the embryo's outer shell for patients over 37 or in frozen embryo transfers.

Scratching & Atosiban

Controlled abrasion to improve receptivity; Atosiban reduces uterine contractility during transfer.

Donation & fertility preservation

For patients who cannot use their own reproductive cells, or those wishing to protect their fertility, KrakOvi provides secure donation and cryopreservation options in accordance with European standards.

Egg & embryo donation

Egg Donation — for patients unable to use their own oocytes. Donor eggs are fertilized using ICSI or pICSI, with precise phenotypic matching.

Embryo Adoption — an embryo anonymously donated by another couple, under strict medical screening, phenotypic matching, and endometrial preparation.

Fertility preservation & egg freezing

Our laboratory uses vitrification — ultra-rapid freezing that stops cellular activity without quality loss, allowing storage for many years.

Oncofertility — urgent preservation following a cancer diagnosis, before oncology treatment begins.

Egg Freezing — for women proactively safeguarding fertility, particularly when postponing motherhood or aged over 30.

Your treatment pathway

A clear, coordinated journey — step by step

Fertility treatment abroad requires precise organization and clear communication. Here is exactly how your journey with KrakOvi looks.

01
Initial coordination & medical interview

Our international coordinator reaches out, conducts a preliminary interview, collects your diagnostics, and determines which specialist to consult first.

02
Initial consultation & assessment

Your first appointment — online, by phone, or on-site in Kraków. The doctor reviews your history to create a personalized plan.

03
Diagnostic testing

Hormonal, infectious disease, genetic, and imaging tests, tailored to your situation and coordinated to minimize travel time.

04
Hormonal stimulation & monitoring

Prescribed hormonal medication to produce mature eggs, monitored through ultrasound scans and blood hormone tests.

05
Ovarian puncture (egg collection)

Performed under short-acting general anaesthesia, supervised by a gynaecologist, an anaesthetist, and our nursing team.

06
Fertilization in the laboratory

Retrieved eggs are prepared immediately. Fertilization uses Conventional IVF, ICSI, or pICSI methods.

07
Embryo culture & monitoring

Embryos develop under controlled conditions, using Time-Lapse monitoring when indicated.

08
Embryo transfer & freezing

A selected embryo is placed into the uterine cavity via a thin catheter. Remaining embryos are frozen via vitrification.
